Our story

Every bracelet starts with a dog who mattered

A young girl holding her black cockapoo puppy

the day it all began

Kindred Paws started with a dog named Theo, a scruffy black cockapoo who was already four years old, fully grown and set in his ways, when our founder was born. He never got a say in the matter. From her very first day home, Theo was hers, and for the next twelve years he acted like he'd chosen it all along.

She doesn't remember a version of her childhood without him in it. He was there for every skinned knee, every first day of school, every ordinary Tuesday. He wasn't a fancy dog. He was just always there, in the way that makes a house feel like a home.

When Theo got old, the way good dogs do, we all knew it was coming. That didn't make the day he left any easier. The house felt too quiet for a while. His leash still hung by the door longer than it probably should have.

What helped, eventually, was making something. Not to replace him, because nothing could, but to hold onto the shape of what he meant. A little charm bracelet, strung together one bead and one memory at a time. The day they met. Bringing him home. The years in between. The kind of forever that doesn't end just because a dog does.

That's the whole idea behind Kindred Paws. Every bracelet and keychain we make is built the same way Theo's story would be, one small piece at a time, each one meaning something. And since so many good dogs like Theo are still out there waiting for their own beginning, part of every sale goes toward helping a local shelter dog find their person, the way Theo found his.

What we're about

Handmade, with a reason behind it

Kindred Paws is a small, family-run charm shop. Every piece is made by hand, and every purchase helps support a local humane society, because we know firsthand how much a dog can mean, and how many are still waiting for their own Theo story to begin.
